What the purchase includes
- No watermark: once bought, PDF Textfix saves without it and removes it from files saved with it.
- All 1.x updates, free.
- No subscription, and no account in the app.
- From pdftextfix.com, a licence active on 3 Macs at a time; from the Mac App Store, Family Sharing.
A purchase unlocks the version it was made in: a licence from pdftextfix.com unlocks the version downloaded from pdftextfix.com, and the in-app purchase unlocks the Mac App Store version. Purchases do not move between them.
What the free version does
On each Mac, your first 5 line edits save without any mark. After that, PDF Textfix still saves your edits, with a watermark on every page of the saved file: “PDF Textfix · free version” across the page in gray, a small PDF Textfix logo in the bottom-right corner, and the footer “Saved with the free version of PDF Textfix. Buy once to remove this watermark.” In the saved file, the footer and the logo open this page, or PDF Textfix on the Mac App Store in the Mac App Store version. The sheet before the first such save quotes the footer as the file will carry it.
Before you buy
Can I try it on my own files first?
Yes. Help > Open Sample PDF opens two sample documents that never count and are never watermarked, and on each Mac your first 5 line edits of your own files save without any mark.
Is there a version without the watermark that costs nothing?
Free to try. Your first 5 line edits save clean. After that, saved files carry a watermark until you buy once. The sample documents in the Help menu never count. The purchase is what removes the watermark, from the files you save next and from files saved with it before.
Can I move my purchase from one version to the other?
No. A licence from pdftextfix.com unlocks the version downloaded from pdftextfix.com, and the in-app purchase unlocks the Mac App Store version. Mac App Store or direct download: which PDF Textfix? sets the two side by side.
Which Mac does it need?
macOS 26 Tahoe or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. There is no version for Intel Macs, Windows, iPad or iPhone. Try it on your Mac before you buy: the download page has both versions.
Does the licence expire?
No. It is a one-time purchase: there is no subscription, nothing renews, and every 1.x update is included. The version from pdftextfix.com checks the licence about once a week when the Mac is online, and asks you to connect once if 30 days pass without a check.
Can I use it on my work Mac and my home Mac?
Yes. A licence from pdftextfix.com is active on 3 Macs at a time, and activating it on a fourth removes the Mac used least recently. A purchase in the Mac App Store follows your Apple Account to your other Macs and can be shared through Family Sharing.
Which text can it not edit?
Scanned pages, form fields and comments, and a few kinds of text whose line says why it is locked. The support page lists them.
Can I buy licences for several people?
Write to contact@pocketimplementation.com with the number of people.
I lost my licence. What now?
The lost licence page says what to send to get it again.
