What PDF Textfix is
PDF Textfix is a Mac app for correcting the text of your own PDFs: a wrong date on an invoice, a typo in a CV, a name in a letter. You double-click a line, type the correction and press Return; the app writes it with the fonts inside the document, checks every edit before applying it, and saves the file again without the text you replaced on the page.
Free to try. Your first 5 line edits save clean. After that, saved files carry a watermark until you buy once. It runs on macOS 26 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.
Why does it do only one job?
A PDF does not store paragraphs the way a word processor does. It stores runs of glyphs drawn at fixed positions, usually with a subset of each font: only the characters the document needed when it was made. Change a word, and the character you type may not be in that subset. An editor then has to choose between a different font, which changes the look of the line, and refusing the edit.
PDF Textfix is built around that choice. It writes your text in the line's own font. When that font lacks a character you type, it looks for it in another copy of the same font in the file, then in the same font on your Mac, then in the closest standard font, and marks the character while you type so you can see where it came from. Before it applies an edit, it checks that every other character on the page stays where it was; when it cannot keep that promise, it refuses the edit and says why.
That is also why it leaves things out on purpose: it does not add text boxes, reflow paragraphs, change fonts or sizes, edit scanned pages, fill forms or redact. Each of those is a different job, and doing one job well is the point. The manual lists what it can and cannot change, and the how-to guides show it on real documents.

Who builds PDF Textfix?
Pocket Implementation S.R.L., registered in Bucharest, designs and builds its apps in-house. Since 2025 it has published four iPhone apps on the App Store: Proposaic, Teafinity, Video to GIF and Subby (source 3). PDF Textfix is its first app for the Mac.
The studio also writes this site. Every article names Pocket Implementation as its author, with the day its claims were checked and the day its text was last reviewed, and a question about an article goes to the same support address as one about the app.
