PDF Textfix writes the change with the fonts inside the document, checks every edit before applying it, and saves the file again without the text you replaced on the page. Free to try. PDF Textfix is a Mac app for correcting the text of your own PDFs: a wrong date on an invoice, a typo in your CV, a name in a letter. Double-click a line, type the correction and press Return. The change is written in place, with the fonts inside the document. When the line's font lacks a character you type, PDF Textfix finds it in another copy of that font, on the Mac or in the closest standard font, and marks it.

Every edit is checked before it is applied: every other character on the page must stay where it was. When a longer word would run into the text after it, the rest of the line moves to make room; when nothing can make room, PDF Textfix refuses the edit and says why. Save writes the whole file again and removes the lines you replaced from the pages. Everything you did not edit is copied as it was, unless the file was damaged: PDF Textfix then repairs it and tells you so. It is not a redaction tool, since the same words can remain in links, bookmarks, comments or the file's properties.

There is no account and no subscription, and your files never leave your Mac. It runs on macOS 26 or later on Macs with Apple silicon. It is free to try: on each Mac, the first 5 line edits save without a mark, and after that saved files carry a watermark until a one-time purchase removes it.
